Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards has named this island in the Philippines the best in the entire world. Palawan is known for its crystal clear waters, palm-edged beaches, and mountains.
Palawan is only a total of around 270 miles long and 25 miles at its widest point. On a map Palawan looks like an arm extending from the Philippines to Borneo.
Getting to Palawan is not the easiest task, but definitely worth it. The most common way to get there is by taking a plane from Manila to Puerto Princesa, and then taking a van from Puerto Princesa to El Nido. It will take you a full day to arrive in Palawan.
The island has striking scenery, crystal clear waters, sandy beaches and first class resorts. If you are interested in scuba diving, it is said to be world class and a breathtaking experience.
